About Pingro
About Us (Actually Just Me)
Thanks for Using My Product
Pingro is a small side project I created during my vacation time as a "Vibe Coding" experiment.
Starting from My Own Needs
I created this product because I personally had similar needs. For example, I was interested in knowing when Tesla's Cybertruck would be available in New Zealand, when FSD would be released in New Zealand, or when running events near my home would open for registration. These all required me to periodically search for the latest information.
To solve the hassle of having to regularly check for information I'm interested in, Pingro was born. After setting up a task, Pingro will regularly use AI to query the questions we care about and notify us via email when conditions are met. This eliminates the annoyance of periodic checking and ensures you learn about information you care about as soon as it becomes available.
This feature is similar to ChatGPT's task functionality, but the difference is that ChatGPT returns results indiscriminately with each scheduled query, which can actually become disruptive to users. It's not suitable for scenarios where you only want notifications when specific conditions are met.
The Creation Process
I started programming in high school and became a programmer. But I eventually discovered that what I truly enjoyed was creating products, and programming was just one of the means for me to realize products. So later I started my own company, built my own team, and gradually coding disappeared from my work life.
As of this year, I haven't been involved in actual development work for over 20 years, and I'm very unfamiliar with currently popular front-end, back-end, and database knowledge. Thanks to the development of AI and programming assistance software like Cursor, I have the opportunity to get back in touch with front-line development work and rediscover the joy of creating products as an individual.
I didn't write a single line of code for Pingro from start to finish; it was all a process of discussion with AI, repeated trial and error, and iterative modifications. Even the product naming and logo design were accomplished with AI.
Future Availability
As a small tool created to solve my own needs and for the joy of creation, Pingro doesn't have further plans for the future. However, it should continue to be maintained and operated until I determine there's a better third-party product that can meet the same needs.
For server operations and AI token consumption, I don't have an accurate estimate yet. But from my understanding, it should be within my acceptable range and shouldn't require any restrictions. If costs become too high in the future, I might consider placing limits on new users. Users who register now will be listed as valued beta testers and won't be affected.
Since this is a "Vibe Coding" project, challenges in security and server performance are foreseeable. I ask for leniency from my fellow developers. For specific suggestions and product feedback, you can leave a message on X (Twitter) or email me at founder@pingro.com.
